Job Purpose

Provide strong support in business performance and analytics for the Retail Banking segment. The role focuses on preparing financial performance reports, identifying key business drivers, and flagging deviations to enable timely decision-making and corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical insights on Retail Banking, Products, and Channels performance, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Prepare monthly financial performance reports and packs for segments and the overall bank
  • Ensure alignment of segment performance with overall country objectives
  • Prepare regular performance reports for relationship managers, branches, and sales teams
  • Facilitate performance review meetings, agree on action plans, and track implementation
  • Support analysis of cost drivers against budgets and monitor execution of corrective actions
  • Develop and track business scorecards and recommend improvements
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports on income statement and balance sheet
  • Analyze market trends and competitor data to enhance product profitability
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes (FP&A)
  • Coordinate development of MIS systems for timely reporting and decision-making
  • Support strategic projects by providing financial insights into product and system design
  • Maintain profitability models for products, channels, and customer segments
  • Prepare business cases and post-implementation reviews for projects
  • Implement controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks in a timely manner
  • Manage operational risk and ensure effectiveness of controls
  • Perform GL reconciliations and support external audits
  • Train sales teams and relationship managers on balance sheet optimization
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities and business leads
  • Detect and address revenue leakages and follow up on recovery

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Computing, or a related field
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA (UK) Level II

Work Experience

  • 3–5 years’ experience in banking operations, preferably in finance business partnering
  • Experience in finance or audit is an added advantage

Generic Competencies

  • Ability to handle large datasets and perform complex analysis
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI, Vision BI, Data Mart, SQL, and VBA
