Background

Makerere University has received funding from the Governments of Uganda and South Korea to implement the Improvement of Makerere University Project. The University invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandan candidates to fill the position of Project Administrator on a two-year contract basis.

Job Purpose

To provide efficient administrative, secretarial, and office support to the project by ensuring effective documentation, logistics, office management, and coordination of project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project documentation, record-keeping, and filing systems.
  • Support the timely replenishment of office supplies and sundries.
  • Participate in the preparation of project progress reports and work plans.
  • Establish and maintain systems for project office procurement, asset management, and office maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of all project assets and equipment.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to project staff.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the Deputy Project Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from a recognized university.

Additional Requirements

  • An MBA or Master’s Degree in Management is an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least five (5) years of practical experience in project administration within a reputable organization or institution.
