Background

Makerere University has received funding from the Governments of Uganda and South Korea to implement the Improvement of Makerere University Project. The University invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandan candidates to fill the position of Monitoring & Evaluation Officer on a two-year contract basis.

Job Purpose

To manage the project’s monitoring, evaluation, and reporting functions by tracking implementation progress, assessing project performance, identifying risks, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely project progress reports.
  • Conduct continuous assessment of project risks and recommend remedial actions.
  • Track procurement planning and reporting.
  • Organize periodic evaluation meetings with relevant stakeholders to review project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Support project performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Submit timely reports to the Deputy Project Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Humanities, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Experience

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role within a public or private organization.

  • High integrity.
