GIS Officer at Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC)

Job Summary

The GIS Officer will execute frontline GIS and automated mapping and facilities management activities, including GIS data acquisition, spatial analysis, data integrity and high-quality map production.

Key Responsibilities

Acquire and prepare primary GIS data.
Support development of GIS databases and layers.
Administer GIS applications.
Troubleshoot and maintain GIS systems and tools.
Maintain relationships with software vendors.
Administer GIS databases.
Supervise external GIS service providers.
Work with project teams to collect GIS data.
Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Geography, Information Management Systems, Surveying or a related field.
At least 4 years’ direct experience in GIS data collection, evaluation and analysis.

Proficiency in ArcGIS, Python and related tools.
