Job Purpose
Support the Environmental Specialist in ensuring compliance with environmental standards, policies, laws, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Environmental Management, or Engineering is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in environmental management within externally funded projects or similar organizations
Key Duties
- Support screening of subprojects to identify environmental risks and mitigation measures
- Assist in preparation and review of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs)
- Monitor compliance with environmental management plans during implementation
- Conduct routine site inspections during project implementation
- Liaise with authorities on environmental approvals, permits, and reporting
