Ssekabaka Namugala was the 24th Kabaka of Buganda and believed to be the first King to step on Buddo’s fetish and perform the coronation ceremony at Naggalabi Buddo around 1740.

Unlike those before him, Namugala is remembered for giving value to life and never ordered any killing.

He loved to have a good drink of alcohol though, and would freely mix with his subjects for a drinking spree where at times he would himself perform songs and dances in his praise and wishing the King long life.
