Ssekabaka Mwanga 1 was the 23rd Kabaka after succeeding his Uncle, Mawanda. He ruled for just 8 days.

He lived at Kavumba where there were so many Elephants which made him happy and he wanted people who came to his Palace to look at them and protect them.

This is often referred to at the start of Buganda’s Tourism. It was during his reign when the Baganda saying of ‘ekyali wali nakiraba ku Njovu e Kavumba’ started. Tombs: Kavumba – Busiro
