The Korean Ministry of Education has confirmed that its 2027 Government Scholarship program will be available in two intake periods, offering both degree‑track and non‑degree research opportunities to international students from 156 developing nations. The initiative covers undergraduate studies, master’s and doctoral programmes, as well as short‑term research projects hosted by Korean universities.

Prospective applicants are instructed to submit their materials through the Korean embassy or the designated university that manages the first round of selection in their home country. Because each diplomatic mission or partner institution sets its own timetable, the exact deadline for each applicant may differ, and candidates are urged to verify the specific cut‑off dates with the relevant authority.

The scholarship scheme is part of Korea’s broader effort to strengthen educational ties and foster a pipeline of skilled professionals who can contribute to both Korean and home‑country development. By attracting talent from a wide range of emerging economies, the program aims to promote cultural exchange, collaborative research, and long‑term economic partnerships.

Students who receive the scholarship will benefit from tuition waivers, monthly stipends, health insurance, and, in many cases, Korean language training. The comprehensive support package is designed to reduce financial barriers and enable scholars to focus on academic and research excellence while experiencing life in Korea.

With the application windows approaching, interested candidates should begin preparing their documents early and stay in close contact with their local Korean embassy or the participating university to ensure a smooth submission process.
