Job Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise in inspection, testing, and certification of mechanical systems. The role involves conducting inspections, audits, assessments, and compliance verification of mechanical equipment and infrastructure in accordance with international standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Inspection & Certification

• Conduct in-service and pre-service inspections of pressure vessels, piping systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Perform inspections in accordance with API, ASME, ISO, and other applicable standards.
• Verify compliance with regulatory codes including API 653 and API 570.
• Issue inspection reports, certification documentation, and technical recommendations.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management

• Prepare detailed technical inspection reports highlighting findings and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate inspection records in line with Bureau Veritas Quality Management Systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.

Client & Project Support

• Liaise with clients on inspection findings and technical recommendations.
• Supervise inspection activities at client sites.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams.
• Prepare quotations and respond to bids and proposals.
• Deliver technical presentations and client pitches to support business development.

Training & Team Support

• Mentor junior engineers and inspection technicians.
• Promote continuous improvement and technical capability development.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Professional Certifications (Added Advantage)

• API 570
• API 653
• ISO 9712
• CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2.2
• LEEA Certification

Experience

• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection, testing, certification, or related engineering work.
