Ssekabaka Mawanda was the 22nd Kabaka. He’s considered the greatest King Buganda has ever had followed by Jjunju. Both were empire builders.
Indeed, the period of Buganda’s expansion was during the reign of five different Kings (Jjuuko, Kayemba, Tebandeke, Ndawula and Kagulu)
There was little territorial addition onto Buganda because their reign was beset by instability in areas of Bulemeezi. At the time, only a small part of Bulemeezi was under Buganda rule. He is also remembered for bringing the Syphilis disease to Buganda.
