Job Summary

The Joint Venture Accountant will support planning and monitoring of non-operated assets, review joint venture annual work plans and budgets, and ensure joint interest billings and cash calls are handled in accordance with Joint Operating Agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly joint interest billings and cash calls.
  • Monitor capital expenditure from joint venture partners.
  • Ensure UNOC meets financial compliance requirements under upstream JOAs.
  • Prepare joint interest billings for operated assets.
  • Maintain JV joint accounts and prevent commingling of resources.
  • Prepare monthly accruals for non-operated assets.
  • Follow up cost recovery audits and related issues.
  • Participate in budget processing and operational reviews.
  • Review annual JV work programmes and budgets.
  • Participate in JV audits.
  • Participate in inventory counts and asset verification.
  • Set up allocations, overheads and WIP processes.
  • Recommend improvements to JV financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  • Full professional membership of ACCA or CPA.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in financial accounting and/or reporting.
