Job Summary
The Terminals Operations Specialist will supervise day-to-day terminal operations involving the handling and storage of petroleum products while ensuring safe operations and protection of people, facilities and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily terminal activities.
- Manage petroleum product receipt, handling, storage and dispatch.
- Implement operational procedures and SOPs.
- Oversee quality control.
- Manage terminal operations within approved budgets.
- Maintain relationships with authorities and security agencies.
- Participate in QHSSE activities.
- Resolve stakeholder and operational issues.
- Improve product quality and minimize losses.
- Monitor stock movement and equipment efficiency.
- Support strategic stock management.
- Develop risk identification and mitigation frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with insurance and reporting requirements.
- Identify technology and process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or another relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 6 years’ relevant experience in petroleum product terminals or depots.
- At least 3 years at supervisory/team leader level.
- At least 3 years’ terminal/depot operations management experience is essential.
- Postgraduate HSE training is an added advantage.
- Professional membership in an engineering, terminals or pipelines body is an added advantage.
