We maneuvered through the shanty houses, almost blinded by the rain bullets that landed onto our bare faces. On the other hand, each step was almost done perfectly for Stone knew every detail of the paths. To be honest, such details had not yet imprinted in my head even after a month or so since I joined these guys. I almost fell into a ditch that lay just infront of the door of one house!

I still wonder to this date why some people should live in such places yet others spend fortunes for a single outing to earthly heavens. Anyway, that’s not my call to make. I have learned that everyone should fight his battle to ensure that he gets the best out of what the world puts on his table. Judge me or not, we were fighting a battle of our own to make our world a better place.
Within the shortest time, Stone and I had reached our habitat. Allow me to use such a neutral word, habitat, because I don’t want to throw words like ‘shack’ to your faces. Stone pushed it open and we burst into the dimly lit seven-by-fifteen-by-seven-feet shelter.
It’s interior, I should say, was from another part of the world. It was warm, unlike the outside, and a cloud of marijuana smoke coloured its atmosphere. Cockroaches and various types of flies were on a rant as usual, including the rain-stimulated white ants that were dancing round the only light in the room—an old lamp hanged on the right aspect of the wall near the curtain that partitioned the room.
A soft-hearted person would fail to walk with ease barefooted in this insect-harboring cave. Why would one even walk barefooted on such a dusty floor? If the latter would get the chance to taste the rains outside, we would never recognise it as our own. When it came to the walls, they were not in any way better than the floor. They were painted with dung and clay, and the cracks that cut through them defined the age of the residence. I failed to get clear information of how Gerald and his friends got to own such a dry sty.
Talking about Gerald, no sooner had we opened the door, than he made a slit through the curtain—from the other side—to see who the hell was disturbing his moment of glory.
“Wait, you fools,” he barked as he waved us off. Even before paying attention to the peeking lower part of the kneeling dame right infront of him, the queer suckling sound from the other side of the curtain told the whole story. This was the real Lukoma Gerald! As we were freezing, he was having a blow job. We didn’t even pay attention to the woman’s wining for such a thing was usual.
Stone reached for under the rotting sofa that occupied almost a quarter of the room and pulled out a tiny pot that contained our marijuana. He picked two sticks, already folded, ready for home consumption. He lit both, handed me one and joined me on the sofa, mindless of the cold raindrops that bled from the rusty iron sheets onto his right shoulder that cut off their journey to their former destination.
A triumphant cry cut through from the other side of the curtain as the young lady burst out to reach for the door, opened it, and spat a mouth-ful of semen in the stream infront of the doorway.
“Mwe style ki?” she greated with such disregard as she went back behind the curtain.
Stone and I blew the white air from our mouths and replied in unison, “Tuli steady.” Gerald appeared seconds later, fastening his belt.
“How much did you get?” He asked as he joined us on the sofa, gripping my left thigh.
“We haven’t yet counted it but I’m sure it’s no big amount,” I replied. Despite all evil we did to acquire money, there would be no big fuss about amounts or sharing of whatever we got. At least we had discipline in that aspect.
“And where is Ronnie?” he asked, but in a louder tone than the former. We remained silent. “Don’t tell me he has remained behind for his business as usual,” he suggested after getting no reply to the former question.
“He is a grown man, he knows what he’s doing,” Stone pulled an answer amid his activity with the marijuana stick. “He must be on his way back now.”
“That imbecile will one day cause problems to us,” Gerald frowned. This was the millionth time Ronnie had done fallen back to finish whatever he wanted to do, as the rest of his colleagues had already landed safely in the arms of the god of robbery and theft.
Stone and I had got used to him but Gerald was not in any way willing to accept in his heart such incompetence. One would think he was such a responsible and caring fella. On the contrary, he was such a sinister joke. He had deserted his wife and children, putting all the blame on his loud wife and bad fate. Okay I’m not trying to paint him dark but he is truly a devil, even though I’m his angel. Hmm, Anyway both the devil and the angel end up burning in hell… What I’m trying to say is that Gerald is only mindful about getting the job done without any mistakes that would endanger our peace and freedom.
His dark eyes shrinked in their balls, representing figuratively his boiling anger. He didn’t have to put on such a show to be serious—he was a sad soul that aged it’s youthful body. His face was a garden of scars and beards. The latter was scattered around his face and neck for the owner didn’t think they needed any care. Why would he even care for his beards when his whole body saw the bathroom only one a month? There’s no way I could stand my ground and tell him about hygiene—okay I’m not perfect too but at least I’m in position to advise him in that matter—because he hated such useless topics. One day I tried to advise him about brushing his teeth and his only reply was to tilt his head to reach for my eyes and stare in them for a full minute or so. Among us, he is a dwarf and yet no one runs the place in his place.
Ronnie finally burst in. We attacked him with cold glances at the go. He ignored them. He was a stone heart. Stone and I never said a thing after that but Gerald wouldn’t leave it at that just yet. He followed him as he fled to the other side of the curtain.
“You know what you’re doing is stupid,” Gerald tried to pick up a fight but Ronnie was not in the mood for one. He removed his wet clothes, remained in a boxer and entered his bed of rags that lay on the floor. “*Mwana* you should stop that habit because it will put all of us in danger,” Gerald continued but only spoke to a dumb fella. He gave up immediately. He knew his point was home—at least for the night—and it wasn’t necessary to keep knocking at Ronnie’s door if he’d replied with silence. You can spend the whole night there without any reply.
Gerald stood infront of Ronnie’s ‘bed’, stared at him for over two minutes before finally letting the latter be and joined his dame inside the warm blanket on his bed. He was the only one that had a real bed among us. The two began to cuddle and fill our ears with sex talk and sounds we never wanted to listen to. Okay I enjoyed listening to them but not always, more so not this night.
Shifting my gaze to Stone, he was already in a place so distant from our shack but with eyes open. The marijuana had done it’s job in the most effective way. I pulled the remaining quarter of the stick from his fingers and joined it with mine between my lips. I blew out another round of air, the heaviest for the night, as I locked the door. I pulled my mattress from under the sofa and unfolded it on the ground.
My world had started going round and round. That was no news to me. I was happy I was also reaching the climax, just like Stone. I blew off the lamp and the sticks, and fell onto the mattress on which my stinky blanket was waiting for me.
Despite my blurring consciousness, I could still hear the kisses and sweet words from the duo on the other side. I covered myself completely with the blanket, reached for my already-erect phallus and started to massage it. As far as I can remember, I didn’t cum—my mind succumbed to the marijuana and into the arms of slumber, I helplessly fell.

Left me in suspense
