Finance Trust Bank (FTB), a Tier 2 Financial Institution regulated by the Bank of Uganda, is inviting qualified and results-driven professionals to apply for the position of Branch Business Supervisor. The successful candidate will support business growth under the Bank’s WASH Project and will be based at one of the Bank’s branches.

Position

Job Title: Branch Business Supervisor

Reporting To: Branch Manager

Duty Station: Branch (Uganda)

Job Purpose

The Branch Business Supervisor is responsible for driving branch performance by planning, reviewing, and monitoring business activities to achieve sustainable business growth while maintaining a high-quality branch balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Acquisition & Business Growth

  • Identify and acquire new customers for loans and deposit products.
  • Achieve branch balance sheet, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Grow the branch loan portfolio.
  • Grow the deposit portfolio.
  • Increase the number of borrowers and savers.

Portfolio Quality Management

  • Manage the allocated loan portfolio to maintain high asset quality.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Conduct field visits and prepare customer call reports.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead branch credit committee meetings.
  • Verify loan documentation and collateral security.
  • Ensure secure custody of collateral under dual control.
  • Conduct field spot checks on officers’ portfolios.
  • Supervise banking and credit operations.

Credit Operations

  • Plan and monitor loan portfolio growth.
  • Review and authorize loan applications in line with policy.
  • Monitor disbursed loans to ensure portfolio quality.

Partnership Management

  • Submit required claims and returns to partners such as EADB, ACELI, and aBi Finance within agreed timelines.

Digital Banking

  • Promote and onboard customers onto Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, and Agent Banking platforms.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver excellent customer service and strengthen customer engagement.

Team Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and supervise branch staff.
  • Promote product knowledge and compliance awareness.

Data Protection

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection requirements.

Other Duties

  • Perform any additional assignments that support branch business growth.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline.

Additional qualifications such as the following will be an added advantage:

  • MBA
  • ACCA
  • CPA
  • Certificate in Risk Management

Experience

Applicants must have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a credit dispensing role with proven performance.
  • Experience as a Business Banker or SME Officer is an added advantage.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
