Job Summary
The Security Specialist will oversee security matters affecting UNOC and its subsidiaries, projects, sites, assets and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage security programmes.
- Liaise with government security forces and agencies.
- Coordinate security arrangements with joint venture partners and contractors.
- Maintain security information and emergency preparedness.
- Develop emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop community intelligence networks.
- Conduct community security risk assessments.
- Investigate security-related community grievances.
- Liaise with Community Liaison Officers.
- Monitor and respond to security threats.
- Prepare security budgets and reports.
- Engage host communities on security concerns.
- Advise on security technology including CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
- Organize security training and exercises.
- Manage security service contracts.
- Ensure compliance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with Honours in a relevant field.
- At least 6 years’ experience in security, including private security, army or police.
- At least 3 years at supervisory level.
- Experience in industrial facilities security.
- Project management environment experience is an added advantage.
- Security stakeholder management experience is an added advantage.
- Criminal investigation experience is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Investigation, analysis and reporting.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
